Sentinel USA represents numerous One Calls Centers nationwide in technical matters related to digital mapping and data acquisition. Sentinel USA collects data from various state and local government sources, manipulates that data into a format compatible with the One Call system software, and then provides that data for upload onto the One Call servers.

Our Call Center clients and Sentinel USA utilize GIS data received from contributors for the exclusive use and purpose of Underground Facility Damage Prevention, and to determine the location of excavation activities and to notify utility and operating members based on their "Service Area Registration" drawn on the mapping database by polygon or grid.

Whether it’s a One Call center or utility operator, land base development costs are traditionally high, due to the effort associated with acquisition and maintenance of the associated data. When members (i.e. utilities, government agencies, etc.) under the One Call centers develop separate private in-house land base data sets, the layers are inconsistent with each other due to disparate GIS platforms among their respective organizations. Quite often, the cost of building land base is duplicated among several entities within the same geographic region.

GIS data gathered from multiple contributors results in multiple GIS formats.

An automated normalization occurs to translate the different data types into one standardized format compatible with the destination model.

CONSORTIUM RESEARCH & ACQUISITION

Data Research and Acquisition Services through Land Base Consortium building. From initial contact, generation of data sharing agreements and managing ongoing acquisition activities.

GIS PRODUCTION & LANDBASE CONFLATION

Data normalization services for the system, consisting of normalizing multiple data sets to match and meet system requirements. Data importation, conversion, projection, and alignment services (merging and re-projection of the source data into coordinate projections compliant with the system). Create seamless data driven environments compatible with the system.

Address Topology Services

"Where applicable - generate centerline address topology consisting of the creation of From Node (FNODE) and To Node (TNODE) attributes, which consist of intersection “indexes”, used to identify where streets intersect each other"
